Getting Started

Connect your Roland SPD-SX via USB, then open the backup folder in SPD-SX Editor. The app reads the native SPD-SX file format directly.

Requirements

• macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later
• Apple Silicon or Intel Mac
• Roland SPD-SX or SPD-SX SE

Common Questions

Can I use this with SPD-SX PRO?

SPD-SX PRO uses a different file format. Support is planned for a future version.

Will my edits overwrite the original files?

Yes — when you save, the app writes directly to the SPD-SX folder. Always keep a backup before editing.

What audio formats can I import?

WAV, MP3, AAC, FLAC, AIFF, M4A, CAF, OGG, WMA, and ALAC. All formats are auto-converted to SPD-SX compatible WAV (44.1kHz, 16-bit, mono).
